Ice Fishing Derby
Northwest Sporting Goods is sponsring the first annual Ice Fishing Derby to support Camp Rising Sun. Due to a lack of ice, the event has been rescheduled to February 23rd. Check out the
flyer for more information and to register (note that the early entry deadline is now February 16).

Who We Are

Camp Rising Sun Charitable Foundation
The Camp Rising Sun Charitable Foundation was formed to provide long-term financial support and stability to
the American Cancer Society's Camp Rising Sun through Annual Fundraising. We are pleased to support the campers, families,
and program of Camp Rising Sun.
Although the long-term goal of the Camp Rising Sun Charitable Foundation is to ensure that all children in the future
will have the opportunity to attend camp free of charge, the Foundation currently supports Camp Risng Sun in many ways, including:
- Providing $85,000 in direct support
- Hosted 2013 Staff Training Weekend, attended by 54 Camp staff members
- Supplying CRS staff with three laptops, software, printers, and other accessories
- Purchasing Camp Rising Sun sweatshirts for campers
- Constructing a stage at Camp Jewell's waterfront
- Sponsoring the welcome reception at Staff Training
- Funding "True to Life" presentation at Staff Training
This website is owned and operated by the Camp Rising Sun Charitable Foundation
Camp Rising Sun Mission Statement
Camp Rising Sun exists so that
all who come can have fun, improve familiar skills, learn new skills
and develop self-confidence by joining in camp activities in a secure
positive place.
Camp
Rising Sun is a camp for children who have been diagnosed with cancer.
Children ages 5 - 17 attend camp free of charge. Our 'Senior Campers' (16- and 17-year-olds) can
apply to be part of our "Leader in Training" program. Run by former camper Katie Link, the LIT
program is designed to give campers who may want to come back as counselors an opportunity
to take on more responsibility, help with younger campers, and plan activities.
Camp is staffed by volunteer counselors who give a week
of their time, love and energy. We have a pediatric oncologist and three
nurses on campus 24-hours a day to tend to medical needs.
Camp Rising Sun started with 8 children in its first year and has
grown to over 100 campers. 2013 will mark our 30th anniversary!
